Stats
There are three "stats" in Dark Crusade, all of which are used quite often. The three stats are Health, Attack, and Defense. While all three of these are fairly obvious ill run through them and explain.
Health is the number that determines how many times your character can take damage, when it hits 1 you go into a state of unconsciousness and if it hits 0 you die. Most scenarios it will stop at 1 even if you should have taken more. Your Health stat comes from the gear you wear.
Attack is the stat that determines the damage you deal. In an event scenario you would figure damage delt to be Defense of victim minus attack of attacker. Attack stat comes from equipped gear
Defense is the stat that determines the damage you take. When attacked you defense first comes out if their damage making some direct attacks far less than fatal.
Skills vs. Stats
While some of you may wonder 'why do I need to get my skills to higher levels if they don't effect me in combat?' It is because of requirements. All equipment comes with two required levels at minimum. For example a one handed straight sword with the attack of 25 may have the requirement of both base level 3 and straight sword level of 15. These are needed to use the sword therefore to gain that attack you want you will need other stats. Sane goes for armor equipment.
Items
Items are used for many things. All items can be broken into one of the three groupings: Gears, Materials, Actives. All items also fall within a rarity. The rarity of an item is how difficult it is to get by drops or by crafting. To check and see what the items rarity is hover over it and examine its name. A white name means common, green means uncommon, blue means rare, purple means ultra rare, gold mean unique, and red means legendary. All items above the tier of ultra rare mean that they are one of a kind, however both item tiers above it also are given only in special circumstances. For example a legendary item is only obtainable from killing an event boss. Even bosses are non-respawning and have a single group rolled loot set, meaning only one of the item will be dropped. Unique items are generally events items that are only given during that event. They could have worse stats than an identical white item where as all legendary items have better stats than their purple counterpart.
All three types of items have all the different rarities too. Actives are items that can be used in some way, but cannot be equip or used in crafting. Actives are items such as potions, food, waystones, or keys.
Materials are all items which are used in crafting
